Kedarkantha peak - Trio

I usually reserve any insights into life with my lessons learnt section as mountains are a great equalizer not between people but with oneself. The oxygen starved environment makes you focus on what is important, your conscious mind  focuses on survival, walking drinking water just trying to live. You unconscious mind focuses on what is possibly important in your life. Your values and things you hold dear.

My own value system has lately under constant evolution of late. Life is teaching me what is important. People are not my inner peace is, yet I find it hard to ignore that there are some people I care about, this sense of Moha is hard to overcome, enlightenment is difficult to attain.

In a trek a day comes when you know its going to be short, and by short you mean an hour and a half. However you hate those days when something goes wrong and this would be one of those days.

We work up rather lethargically with Neeraj riding everyones ass on proper way to pack the sleeping bag, something I don't agree with. I don't believe in wrestling with a sleeping bag in the morning.

Ready to leave

Post breakfast we were divided into two groups a fast one and a slow one. The slow group was asked to move ahead of us. I was categorized as a fast mover although I was not sure and a request to be transferred to the slow group was denied and to add to fun I was asked to lead the group.

We waited around for a while and took a number of pictures at Juda ka talab. Our destination today would be Kedarkantha basecamp.

Unfortunately for our group our guide's who knew the way to Kedarkantha base camp had gone with the slow group, I was asked to lead to create a steady pace with Neeraj doing multiple duties of sweeper, guide and others.

We continued our trek and took a wrong turn and ended up at Hargaon, the place we were to descent after our peak.

Well we learnt or error rather early and marched back to Kedar kantha basecamp.
The day was mostly uneventful, we slept early to wake up at 3 for our ascent.
