Chandrkhani Pass to Malana II - Getting there, maps and gear list

As promised before this will be a dry blog talking about the hows and why's of the treks and not the beauty of the locations.

In this entry we will talk about how to get to Nagar, the gear required and I will share some maps.

How to get to Nagar?
We booked a bus from Delhi to Manali from Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation from this link http://www.hptdc.nic.in/bus.htm
We let the bus driver know we would get off at Nagar and he let us off there.

Gear I took?
All our common gear like tents, cooking stove and other items were provided by the guide so all we had to take was personal stuff. He also provided sleeping mats and bags but I took my own. The list of my gear is -

  1. Backpack
  2. Sleeping bag
  3. Sleeping mat
  4. Gortex pants and Jacket
  5. Warm jacket synthetic fill
  6. Fleece
  7. Two pairs of trek pants
  8. Two tees
  9. One pair of inners
  10. Underpants
  11. Soap
  12. Sunscreen
  13. Sun Glasses
  14. Trek Shoes
  15. Socks
  16. Chocolates
  17. Hand sanitizer
  18. Water bottle
  19. Multi tool
Maps
I purchased a trek map for the area at the end of my trip however I did have one map with me that I found on the net and is attached here.

I would strongly encourage to purchase a trek map of Himachal which is available for around $3 in Manali.
